Four of the nation’s most successful women came together to discuss the art and film industry in the Middle East

Doha – Qatar. March 14, 2019: W Doha Hotel & Residences opened its doors to another invigorating “WHAT SHE SAID” panel discussion on Wednesday March 13 with four of the nation’s most successful women. This particular WHAT SHE SAID – which is the 3rd event to be hosted in Qatar – focused on the impact of art and film from the perspective of four inspiring Qatari women who have revolutionized the industry and left their footprint globally.

More than 150 women attended ‘WHAT SHE SAID – Art: Tales, Truths and Triumphs’, a conversation –  moderated by Boutaïna Azzabi Ezzaouia, the Senior Engagement Producer and Facebook Lead at Al Jazeera English – about the speakers’ journey in the field of art and film and what it takes to be an artist or filmmaker in the Middle East today. The four speakers; Bouthayna Al Muftah (visual artist), Hend Fakhroo (director and filmmaker), Abeer Al Kuwari (artist) and Amal Al Muftah (filmmaker) provided guests with an inside look into their lives, how they overcame both personal and professional obstacles and gave advice to the women audience. Following the panel, guests were invited to join Bouthayna Al Muftah for an interactive and hands-on art activity where they created origami.
