Doha Learning Days – Qatar’s first experiential learning festival – will get under way on this evening with a musical performance showcasing the nation’s culture against the backdrop of today’s world.

Organized by WISE – an initiative of Qatar Foundation – Doha Learning Days is taking place at the Ceremonial Court and Green Spine in Education City until November 19, and is open to the community and free of charge.

The opening performance, featuring characters developed by QF’s Qatar Reads, and a script narrated by ACTory and accompanied by musicians from the Qatar Music Academy Youth Orchestra, will officially mark the start of the festival.

Over the course of six days, more than 50 local and international entities will come together to offer an array of interactive workshops, art exhibitions, film screenings, health and wellbeing masterclasses, and engaging discussions designed to generate positive change within Qatar’s community.

Visitors will have the opportunity to visit Torba Farmers Market and find out how to lead more sustainable lifestyles; discuss the importance of overcoming social taboos to create impactful businesses; become empowered by female leaders and change-makers in Qatar; improve public speaking skills and learn how to give presentations; discover how to become an entrepreneur; and navigate coding.

Through its activities, Doha Learning Days aims to be a catalyst for education that focuses on re-centering learning human values, deconstructing existing learning frameworks, and a process of re-learning to build thriving societies.

It is taking place in the lead up to the WISE Summit 2019, which will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre from November 19 to21, under the theme UnLearn, ReLearn: What it means to be Human.
