Public will have free access to ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019, which will begin on October 12, the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) said.
Director of Marketing and Communications at Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikha Asma Al-Thani said that it’s a pleasure to give everyone the opportunity to participate in one way or another and expressed joy in announcing that attendance of this historic edition will be free.
She added saying that the Qatar 2019 World Beach Games is an extraordinary event that is being held for the first time in the history of beach sports, adding that beach sports atmosphere is suitable for the whole family and the crowd will come in large numbers to encourage their teams and enjoy the beaches of Doha. Public can enter the stadiums and attend the games for free.
The competition will begin on October 12 and ends on October 16.
More than 1,200 athletes from 96 countries from five continents will compete in 14 competitions in four locations: the Katara Cultural Village, Aspire Zone, Al Gharafa Stadium and the Ritz-Carlton Doha’s Leqtaifiya Lagoon.
The competition’s list of sports includes Aquathlon, 3×3 Basketball, Rock Climbing, Beach Handball, Karate Kata Individual, Kitefoil Racing, Climb Bouldering, Skateboarding, Waterski, Wakeboard, Beach Soccer and Open Water 5km, Beach Tennis, Beach Volleyball 4×4, and Beach Wrestling.
According to the schedule of the tournament, Aquathlon, 3×3 Basketball, Karate Kata Individual, Kitefoil Racing, Beach Soccer, Open Water 5km, Beach Tennis and Beach Wrestling will be held at Katara Beach, while the Al Gharafa courts will host Beach Handball and Volleyball 4×4 competitions. Meanwhile, Climb Bouldering and Skateboarding take place in Aspire Park and the Ritz-Carlton (Leqtaifiya Lagoon) hosts the Waterski and Wakeboard competitions.
