The All and About Qatar team were recently invited down to the Hilton hotel for the opening of their brand new Reem Al Bawadi restaurant and cafe.

Located on the Hilton beach, Reem Al Bawadi offers a fantastic views of the sea thanks to its large windows and is the ideal location to enjoy their Arabic inspired menu. This is the first time the restaurant has opened in Qatar having previously been across the gulf in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It’s certainly understandable why the chain has been popular in the region with their well made food served in a stunning sea view setting.

For starters, we were served up Arabic stables in the form of fattoush, baba ganoush and warm Arabic bread. The highlight of which was the basil infused hummus which was a simple and unique twist on the humble hummus and the addition of basil really livened up the dish.

Next up was a large platter of Arabic meat, including grilled chicken, shish tawouq and lamb and chicken kufta. All in all, the meat was cooked well, although, personally, I felt that the grilled chicken was a little too fatty for my tastes. As the live music played, you will certainly feel at home in the restaurant and the ambiance certainly marks out Reem Al Bawadi as a must visit during the winter months.

Another highlight of Reem Al Bawadi, is that the roof is retractable meaning that you can easily enjoy the cool weather and atmosphere which is in abundance at the new venue. I decided to round off my experience with some shisha, and was quickly supplied with a well blended lemon and mint pipe.

Overall, Reem Al Bawadi is a enjoyable experience in a fantastic setting by the sea. The food was if a high standard, despite the grilled chicken not being of the best standard for myself personally. The fact that the roof is retractable and the venue serves shisha makes it a winner for me, and a must visit if you want to enjoy the cooler winter months in Doha.
