The revamped restaurant offers traditional recipes from the culinary hotspots of the Iberian Peninsula.

Internationally award-winning Spanish cuisine will have a new home in Qatar as two-time Michelin star guest chef, Javier Aranda, launched the newly revamped El Faro today as an ode to his background and love for Spanish cuisine. Celebrating the restaurant’s grand opening, Doha’s socialites, VIPs, and media representatives attended the event where they sampled some of the new items on the menu, including Spanish favourites; tapas and paella. With an entrance similar to that of a Spanish Mercado, marketplace, everyone felt like they have been transferred to Spain as they entered the newly revamped restaurant.

The restaurant’s menu has now been revamped by Chef Javier Aranda, offering an exclusive tapas an pintxos bar, the high energy nucleus of the new restaurant’s concept, while the main seating area provides a full dinner menu featuring highlights from across the Spanish regions influenced by Spanish, Portuguese, and British cuisines, or what is known as the Iberian Peninsula.Special weekly promotions such as Vive La Noche (Long live the night), Chica’s night, Paella Night and Tapa Locas all of which to be launched in July, aim to create a gastronomic experience that captures the essence of what makes Spanish cuisine unique.

Attributing his success to his grandfather’s influence on him, Chef Javier Aranda, is considered a key figure in the industry. The two-time Michelin-starred Chef has two venues in Madrid namely La Cabra and Gaytán and is one of the youngest rising stars in the Spanish culinary scene. He is adamant to bring Doha some of his country’s flavors, intertwined with his signature flare.

Chef Javier Aranda said: “I am delighted to be here to participate in the re-launch of El Faro, a first for me in Doha. My vision is to have everyone here experience an authentic cuisine from Spain, one that I am personally passionate about.”

The restaurant’s unique décor featuring a Picasso-inspired brick wall, Spanish inspired “Mercado” (marketplace) displaying various Spanish-sourced products, and a Chalkboard wall served as conduit for the Spanish sensation.Added Cluster General Manager of the Kempinski Marsa Malaz, Raghu Menon: “We are ecstatic to have Javier steer El Faro with his team in the reopening of this iconic Spanish restaurant in Doha. We are confident the restaurant will be the place to be for traditional Spanish food and ambience.”
