With the opening of all three metro lines with 36 functioning stations, travelling to cultural hubs like Katara, Souq Waqif and Qatar National Library has become much easier. Below is a detailed list of how to reach each cultural hub using Doha Metro and its feeder buses.
Museum of Islamic Art – MIA (Gold Line)
Situated on the Gold Line, the station to get off at is National Museum Station which is just 15 minutes (walking distance) away from MIA.
Red Line: Coming from Lusail-QNB or Al Wakra side, get off at the Msheireb Interchange and change to Gold Line heading towards Ras Bu Abboud. Get down at the National Museum Station and a short walk of 15 minutes will take you to the museum.
Gold Line: Trains coming from both Aziziyah and Ras Bu Aboud direction will stop at National Museum Station and it’s a short walk to the museum.
Green Line: Get down at the Msheireb Interchange and change over to Gold Line heading towards the National Museum Station (Ras Bu Abboud direction).
National Museum of Qatar – NMOQ (Gold Line)
Situated next to the National Museum Station, NMOQ is just a minute away from the station.
Red Line: Coming from Lusail-QNB direction or Al Wakra, get down at Msheireb Interchange and take the Gold Line heading towards Ras Bu Abboud to reach National Museum Station.
Gold Line: If you are coming from Ras Bu Aboud Station side, you can get off directly at the National Museum Station to reach the museum, it is same route if you are coming from Al Aziziyah direction.
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Mansoura Station, get off at Msheireb Interchange, change to Gold line heading towards Ras Bu Abboud and go to the National Museum Station. It’s the same route even if you are coming from Al Riffa Station side.
Doha Fire Station (Red Line)
Corniche Station on the Red Line is where you need to get off to reach the museum. From the station you can catch a Metrolink (M143) to reach your destination.
Red Line: If you are travelling on Red Line either from Lusail or Al Wakra direction, get off on Corniche Station and take the bus.
Gold Line: Get down at Msheireb Interchange and changeover to Red Line heading towards Lusail-QNB to reach Corniche Station and take the feeder bus M143.
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Riffa side you can either get off at Al Bidda or Msheireb stations and change to Red Line to reach Corniche Station. If you’re coming from Al Mansoura Station you can get off at Msheireb Station and get on the Red line to reach Corniche Station.
Msheireb Museum (Gold Line)
Get off at the Msheireb Station to reach your destination.
Red Line: Both Lusail-QNB and Al Wakra commuters have to get off at Msheireb Interchange / Station.
Gold Line: Trains coming from both Aziziya and Ras Bu Aboud direction will stop at Msheireb Interchange / Station and it’s a short walk to the museum.
Green Line: Get down at the Msheireb Interchange / Station to reach your destination.
DECC (Red Line)
The exhibition centre is only a minute away from the DECC station.
Red Line: If you are travelling on Red Line either from Lusail or Al Wakra direction, get off at the DECC Station.
Gold Line: Get down at Msheireb Interchange and changeover to Red Line heading towards DECC Station (Lusail direction).
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Riffa side you can either get off at Al Bidda or Msheireb stations and change to Red Line heading towards Lusail to reach DECC Station. If you’re coming from Al Mansoura Station you can get off at Msheireb Station and get on the Red line to reach DECC Station.
Qatar National Library – QNL (Green Line)
On the Green Line, QNL is just a minute away by walk from the Qatar National Library Station.
Red Line: Get off either at Msheireb or Al Bidda interchange and take the Green Line heading towards Qatar National Library Station.
Gold Line: To reach Qatar National Library Station get off at the Msheireb or Al Bidda Interchange and take the Green Line towards Al Riffa to reach the QNL station.
Green Line: Qatar National Library Station falls on the Green Line and you can walk to the library from the station.
Arab Museum of Modern Art-Mathaf (Green Line)
The second last stop on the Green Line, Education City Station, takes you directly to the museum.
Red Line: Get off either at Msheireb or Al Bidda interchange and take the Green Line heading towards Education City Station (Al Riffa side) to reach your destination.
Gold Line: If you are coming from Ras Bu Aboud or Al Aziziya side, get off at Msheireb station and change into Green Line heading towards Education City Station.
Green Line: From anywhere on the Green Line starting from Al Mansoura station, it’s a straight path towards Education City Station, it is the same route coming from Al Riffa Station.
3-2-1 Sports Museum (Gold Line)
The destination is a 4-minute walk from the Sport City Station, located in Khalifa Stadium.
Red Line: Get off at Msheireb Interchange and take the Gold Line heading towards the Sport City Station (Al Aziziya direction).
Gold Line: If you are coming from Ras Bu Aboud or Al Aziziya side, you can get off directly at the Sport City Station.
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Mansoura Station, get off at Msheireb Interchange, change to Gold line and go to Sport City Station (Al Aziziya direction). It’s the same route even if you are coming from Al Riffa Station side.
Qatar National Theatre (Red Line)
Situated on the red line, the theater is walkable distance from the Corniche Station.
Red Line: Coming from Al Wakra, it will take you directly to the Corniche Station. It is the same route from Lusail-QNB Station.
Gold Line: Coming from both Al Aziziyah or Ras Bu Abboud Stations, you will have to get off at the Msheireb Interchange, change to Red Line and head towards corniche station.
Green Line: Coming from Al Riffa / Al Mansoura Stations, you can get off on both Msheireb or Al Bidda Interchange, change to Red Line and head towards Corniche Station.
Exhibition Centre (Red Line)
To reach your destination you will have to get off at Al Qassar Station, which is a 9-minute walk from the station.
Red Line: Get off at Al Qassar Station and a short walk will take you to the exhibition centre.
Gold Line: Get off at Msheireb Interchange and catch a train on the Red Line heading in the direction of Lusail Station to reach Al Qassar Station.
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Mansoura side or Al Riffa side, you can get off either at Msheireb or at Al Bidda and then change over to Red Line heading in the direction of Lusail Station to reach Al Qassar Station.
Katara (Red Line)
Katara Station on the Red Line is where you need to get off. From the station it is a 4-minute walk to your destination.
Red Line: If you are travelling on Red Line either from Lusail or Al Wakra direction, get off at Katara Station and walk.
Gold Line: Get down at Msheireb Interchange and changeover to Red Line heading towards the Katara Station.
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Riffa side you can either get off at Al Bidda or Msheireb Station and change to Red Line to reach Katara Station. If you’re coming from Al Mansoura Station you can get off at Msheireb Station and get on the Red line to reach Katara Station.
Souq Waqif (Red Line)
To get to the souq you will have to get off at Msheireb Station and then catch a Metrolink (M138) that will take you to the souq.
Red Line: You can reach the Msheireb Station on the Red Line and all you have to do is get on the Metrolink to reach the souq or change to Gold Line to reach the station and it’s a short walk from there.
Gold Line: Trains coming from both Al Aziziyah and Ras Bu Aboud direction will stop at Souq Waqif Station and it’s a short walk to the souq.
Green Line: Trains coming from both Al Riffa and Al Mansoura direction will stop at Msheireb Station can either avail the Metrolink to reach the souq or change to Gold Line and from there it’s a short walk to the souq.
Souq Wakrah (Red Line)
Situated on the Red Line, you can get off at Al Wakrah Station and get on a feeder bus (M127) to reach the souq.
Red Line: Reach the last station – Al Wakra Station – on the Red Line and all you have to do is get on the Metrolink M127 to reach the souq.
Gold Line: If you are on Gold Line, then get down at Msheireb Interchange and take the Red Line heading towards Al Wakra Station. Be careful not to take the train to Hamad International Airport. Alternate trains go to the airport on Red Line.
Green Line: If you are coming from Al Riffa side you can either get off at Al Bidda or Msheireb Station and take a train to Al Wakra Station on Red Line. If you’re coming from Al Mansoura side, then get off at Msheireb Station and get on the Red line to reach Al Wakra Station.
