Fly and Dine away

Airline dining is not really a popular choice among travelers. Most travelers like eating before their flights due to time and hygiene constraints and treat in flight dining as their last choice. Airlines nowadays have developed more innovative ways to make their passengers feel at ease and here are a few initiatives that the airline companies have   come up with to keep the journey more interested.

Improved Seats

Seats and tables, affects one’s experience while dining. This is one of the reasons that airlines also upgraded their seating arrangements making more space for leg room and dining, especially in the first class and business class areas.

Technology

A few airlines have introduced the meal and drinks lists as part of their inflight entertainment system so passengers can browse and order from their seats.

According to Air New Zealand’s manager Matthew Cooper, they will have an incoming technology for their future business class passengers that will allow their customers to cook food from scratch, reheating, and more.

Chef’s on Air

Airlines are now hiring their own exclusive and high-profile chefs, not only to improve their menus, but to entice more people to book with them. A lot of airlines have adopted this trend, and continue to invest on their celebrity chef concept.

Classy and Latest Cuisines

Not only are restaurants trying to keep track of whats new, even airlines do! Instead of the generic chicken and pasta meals, airlines are now offering a wider variety of cuisine on board for their passengers to choose from. They also offer wine, desserts, vegan food and meals that are targeted to people with allergies and other dietary conditions.

These improvements in service, hospitality and on board cuisine signifies that airlines are innovating and reinventing on how to cater to the needs of passengers flying with them.
