Qatar Charity (QC) distributed health kits to 900 workers in the Lusail area as a part of  awareness efforts to limit the spread of the Covid-19 and try to control and reduce infections.


The health kits were distributed in the presence of a number of officials of the Ministry of Administrative Development, QC and a number of volunteers. Director of the General Inspection Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs stated that there have been major efforts to sterilise workers’ accommodations and facilitate medical examination procedures, raise awareness and guidance at work sites and headquarters of facilities subject to the labor law and establishments in general.

Director of the Local Development Department of QC Jassim Mohamed al-Emadi stressed that the campaign targeted the largest number of workers, as it started from the Azab (farm) compounds and then the workers housing and construction sites. Some 10,000 health kits were distributed to workers in different regions during the previous period, while those distributed on Monday were to 900 workers in the Lusail area and 2,400 kits to workers in other regions. He pointed out that the health kits contain educational publications in seven languages that include the most important educational guidelines.

These were distributed to workers of all nationalities and languages with the aim of raising awareness of how to deal with the coronavirus and to preserve their safety and the safety of society, in addition to the requirements of personal and preventive hygiene. He stressed that QC is carrying out this mission as part of its national duty and responsibility towards society.

Director of the Labour Relations Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development Abdullah al-Dosari explained that the workers are a key part of Qatar in view of their role in the development and reconstruction of the country, stressing the importance of increasing their health awareness and care as sons of this country.
