Katara – the Cultural Village is concluding its Eid al-Fitr festivities today (Wednesday), after four days of immense popular turnout on through its website and social media platforms.
Katara was keen to abide by the preventive measures to curb any further spread of the novel coronavirus, and follow the related strategy for the well-being of the people. Accordingly, the festivities were organised, with the website receiving more than 132,000 visits in the first two days of Eid.
The festivities included a number of surprises such as – virtual fireworks that simulated the fireworks that used to be conducted by Katara during such occasions, and attracting large numbers of spectators. The website visitors can follow the virtual fireworks today also at 8pm.
The Eid gifts program received an unprecedented number of followers, as it was launched twice a day, at 7pm and 9pm.
Katara stressed the importance of registration on its website to obtain the remotely granted gifts, where the spectators can get e-gifts or in-kind gifts through a virtual queue or random e-draw that will be conducted through the website.
In addition, the remotely given in-kind gifts will be delivered to the winners through the delivery sponsor Rafeeq Company after May 30. Other draws will be conducted through the accounts of some social media influencers.
Katara will distribute Eid gifts to the children of Dreama-Orphan Care Centre and those in health quarantine, and other gifts will be delivered to the children who placed orders at Katara’s restaurants through Rafeeq Company.
Katara has been keen to introduce a number of innovative competitions such as the selection of the best dressed children during Eid by sending a high quality photo or video.
The winning entries shall be the property of Katara which has the right to use them for any purpose. The deadline for receiving entries will be 8pm on May 30.
