An Unforgettable day in the Golden Sands

Desert safari to Khor Al-Udaid is a pleasure for adventure lovers.

One of the best activities you can do in Doha, especially in the winter, is going on the Desert safari, where you spend  time among the sand dunes that rise and fall deep in the desert. Khor Al-Duaid popularly known as the inland sea is a magnificent structure of sand dunes built by the winds and the weather here in Qatar.

At the beginning, you join a group of 4×4 cars typically land cruisers that have weathered the climate the twists. the tyre pressure is reduced and it is definitely not advisable to take your own vehicles if you haven’t had the practice as it is high risk. You can not drive among sand dunes without training until you acquire this skill.

Each car comes equipped with all the necessary equipment to ensure a safe and exciting journey across the desert, such as a first aid kit, flag, deflator, rope, air compressor, GPS device, snatch strap and floodlight.

During that journey you will undoubtedly see the unique desert landscape when you climb sand dunes and listen to the sound of sand moving as the sand slopes descend. You may be lucky to see some rare animals or birds during the trip as well.

We started at 2pm towards the dunes cutting the road to the sea coast. After an hour and a half, we stopped to take a break and take some amazing pictures of the dunes and the quickly arriving sunset. Then we continued the journey towards the beach.

As we arrived and unpacked we saw that the beach is equipped with volleyball courts on the sand and opens up into clear waters to take a swim. you can also prepare your own lunch or have a BBQ session to make this a more enjoyable experience.

Kids can play, swim and have fun with the full family around. So, if you have family and friends visiting take them for a sweet drive to the dunes. Don’t forget to turn on your lights, you will find dozens of crabs coming out of the water towards the light in an exciting scene.

The Desert Safari is a great adventure and a great exploration trip with an opportunity to have an unforgettable experience making memories that last for hours, even days if you like to camp overnight.
