Responding to claims that Cheryl had used the photo to make him jealous, he tweeted: “I am jealous tbh I want to cozy up to Tom hardy too what can I say.”

One fan replied: “Omg you are the king of replies I swear.”

Liam and Cheryl – who are parents to baby son Bear – have faced weeks of reports their two-year romance is on the brink of collapse.

According to reports, Cheryl ignored her rule of posing with celebrities in order to get a snap with the 40-year-old.

“It’s incredibly rare for Cheryl to make a fuss of any A-listers so Tom should feel chuffed,” a source said.

“She’s always been a huge fan and didn’t waste the opportunity to have a word.”

“Good job I pressed the reply button as well @cherylofficial,” he added.

He continued: “I’m f***ing useless at this thing.”
