I am not someone who raves about food right away. I am not a foodie. However, I do appreciate good food and a good experience. Having only recently tried the afternoon tea at the MIA cafe, and having had a splendid time. I thought I might as well share it with you all. Why only keep such a pleasant experience all to myself?

The Museum of Islamic Arts is one of the most iconic buildings that sits in Doha today – one of such beauty and magnificence that is hard to put into words. The MIA cafe sits on the ground floor of the Museum of Islamic Arts with a view of the stunning skyline of Doha. The afternoon tea offering is so tasteful from its design to the details on how it is presented – one can simply stare away at the beauty of the presentation.

The best thing of all is the pricing at which you get the whole offering – 60 QAR. I think it is one of the best and highly recommended experiences on my list.

You can explore the entire museum for hours away from the morning and rest your tired feet when you are done by ordering yourself a set of afternoon tea. But, that’s not all. While you have your afternoon tea – you can see the sun go down, the tourists from different parts of the world finding beauty in every corner of the museum and clicking away pictures. And, in spite of it all, the museum environment is very calm and still almost exuding serenity from within. With the water fountain right next to the seats, the afternoon tea is truly a calming accompanied by the sound of falling water. There is something therapeutic about hearing water flow.

What’s even better is that they are running a campaign until the 31st of August where you can have 2 sets for QAR 100. It’s a bargain deal and if you are not traveling outside of Doha, then this is good for a group of four. Try first, and thank me later.
