To celebrate this momentous occasion, Qatar Airways announced a special discount of up to 25 percent on fares. Privilege Club members will also have the opportunity to earn up to double Qmiles and Qpoints. The sale will be valid from February 3 – February 14, 2019, with travel validity from February 3 – August 31, 2019.

In addition, Qatar Duty Free (QDF) will be offering a special two week-long sale from Saturday February 2 – February 14, 2019, with a 20 percent discount on purchases at QDF stores.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: “This is a very proud moment for the State of Qatar. We could not be more proud of our national team for their inspiring performance throughout the tournament, despite much political pressure and an ill-judged campaign undertaken by the tournament’s host country, which is taking part in the illegal blockade against our country. Qatar’s national team, shrewdly managed by Félix Sánchez, has truly inspired all of us with their resilience, dignity and footballing skill.

“This achievement testifies to the power of sport in bringing people together – one of our core beliefs as an airline, and one reason why Qatar Airways has invested in a host of top-tier global sporting sponsorships. We extend our warmest congratulations to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and all the residents of Qatar, on this achievement.” On Friday, Qatar Airways held a public viewing of the final match, at the Airport Park next to Qatar Airways’ headquarters. Families and individuals from across Doha came together to cheer for Qatar’s national football team.
