Hipmunk

Search for flights, hotels, car rentals and vacation packages. Hipmunk offers tools to find deals and to know exactly what you’re getting, whether you want to book “basic economy” to save a few bucks or if you’re willing to splurge on comfort.

Hopper

Already a popular app for airfare searches and price alerts, Hopper recently launched a new “secret fares” feature that offers deals on flights that are up to 35% cheaper than anywhere else. In select cities, Hopper will also alert you when hotel prices are at their lowest.

LoungeBuddy

Free. Available on iOS.

LoungeBuddy offers access to premium airport lounges for $25. You can book a lounge the day of or up to two months in advance. The app will also tell you what lounges you can access for free based on your credit cards or status.

Tunity

Free. Available on iOS and Android.

Tunity can help you at the airport by scanning the muted TVs around you, and then streaming audio to your phone.

Service

Free. Available on iOS.

Have a flight that’s canceled or delayed? Service will automatically pursue compensation from the airline. The app will also monitor your hotel books and help you rebook if the price on your room drops.

Roadtrippers offers suggestions of nearby restaurants, points of interest like swimming holes and national parks, hotels, and even quirky attractions like an underwater mermaid show or the largest ball of twine. Friends can also add suggestions for your itinerary, making it easier to plan a road trip together.

Quickly locate a bathroom near you, whether you’re on the road or at the beach. The app has 100,000 bathrooms in its database, with user reviews and filters for specific features like handicap accessibility and changing tables.

PhotoPills

Photopills tells you exactly where the sun and moon will be, when you can expect supermoons and celestial events, and where to point your camera to capture magnificent shots of the Milky Way at night. The app also has features that calculate the depth of field and 3D augmented reality to help you see what your shot will look like before you take it.

Secret Escapes offers discounts on luxury hotels, either for a last-minute getaway or to book your upcoming trip.

DayPass

DayPass offers access to the top pools, spas, beach clubs, gyms, restaurants, and private cabanas at 500 hotels and resorts around the world.
