After 6 fruitful days of films and culture, Ajyal Film Festival finally comes to an end. Ajyal brought smiles, laughter, tears and unforgettable memories with engaging and educating the community with the showcase of creative and unifying art works.
FEATURED FILMS
The Breadwinner tells a wonderful tale of women empowerment and imagination about the eleven-year-old Parvanam who lives with her family in a small apartment in Kabul, where war is ongoing. It is a 93-minute 2D film, executive-produced by Angelina Jolie, which took the top prize at the Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Brilliant films are also featured in the festival such as At Eye Level, The Bug Bad Fox and Other Tales, Birds like us, Disappearance, Even when I Fall, Everyday Heroes, Liyana, Loving Vincent and more.
SHORT FILMS
Ajyal Youth Film Festival celebrate their annual film-making in Qatar. They presented a wide range of short films from narratives, documentaries and thoughtful essays, and were made independently through Qatar University and/or Northwestern University in Qatar, and/or with support of Doha Film Institute’s workshops and funding programs.

Ajyal’s Family Weekend offers all sort of delightful activities for families in Qatar with programs that is sure to engage young minds!
Geekdom is an event that returns this year to celebrate pop-culture from comics, movies, anime, cartoons to video games. There are also artworks display, colorful booths and cosplay and the Ajyal Wall, where you can showcase your creativity!
LeBlockade presents multimedia exhibitions of films, digital artworks and installations that showcase the creative movement that emerged after the blockade. Great artists created inspiring and unifying artworks that showcases the strength of the Qatari Art community in the midst of unfortunate events.
Diverse topics are also discussed in Ajyal talks as they panel shares their views about social media influences, arts and culture and social issues.
