Residents in the GCC region regularly face hair loss, dehydrated skin and dryness. Here are a few ways to protect your hair and skin from desalinated water.

In the desert climate where there the temperatures and humidity are high, common problems that people face are hair loss and general weakness in hair growth affecting men and women of all ages.

One of the main reasons of these problems is the permanent use of desalinated seawater, which is the main source of drinking and bathing in the Arabian Gulf region.

The chlorine found in the tap water and swimming pools is also one of the main causes of hair problems. The accumulation of chlorine on the roots of the hair can cause the hair to break and cover the scalp to prevent the growth of new hair.

If you suspect the presence of chlorine in your hair, watch your hair. If you feel that it has a layer of glue when it is wet and a dry straw feeling when it is dry, you need to immediately treat your hair to get rid of chlorine deposits on your scalp.

If you cannot avoid the heat and humidity, do not worry, there are other solutions to overcome the problem.

First, use a medicated hair shampoo that controls scaling and dandruff issues. Most often, medicated shampoos are used to relieve itching and/or scaling, but they can also treat bacterial or fungal infections and kill vermin. Scaly scalp affects about half of children and adolescents, and dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis are the primary causes. Shampoos like Nizoral, Head and shoulders are great for the hair. Hot oil treatments and regular washes will also help the hair a great deal.

Another great option is the use of a shower filter. It is a water-purifying device with the use of a piece of carbon that absorbs the chlorine and eliminates the impurities from the water. This filter and the shower head is easily available in pharmacies and online selling platforms. It is also easy to install at home without a specialist required for the purpose. However, it should be kept in mind that you should change the carbon piece once every 3 to 6 months depending on the frequency of use.

Let us know if this works out for you and your review too! Happy hair day to you!
