Katara Cultural Village in cooperation with Katara Forum for Qatari Farmers and the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) launched yesterday a campaign to distribute five tonnes of vegetables per day to those in need in Qatar.


The needy people can call on 55470558 and 55449862 to benefit from the campaign.
“The campaign ‘Nuaino and Nowano’ (we support and cooperate) comes within a series of charitable and community initiatives and campaigns of Katara held in the past at many occasions, whether inside or outside Qatar,” said Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.

He explained that under this initiative five tonnes of vegetables will be distributed on daily basis in cooperation with the Qatari Red Crescent Society, to the needy individuals and families inside Qatar. Dr. Al Sulaiti said that Katara believes that culture is a comprehensive act of everything that would provide an addition to the individual and society.
“Through these charitable initiatives and campaigns, Katara works to spread the culture of cooperation and solidarity between the various members of society and its structures,” said Dr. Al Sulaiti.

He indicated that this campaign represents the best evidence of cooperation of various efforts towards achieving a goal to enhance social solidarity and support the state’s efforts in supporting needy people.

For her part, Mona Al Sulaiti, Executive Director of the Volunteer and Local Development Sector of QRCS, said that the Qatar Red Crescent’s volunteers will participate in distributing the assistance provided by Qatari farmers through the Katara Forum for Qatari Farmers.
She confirmed that they will reach all places in Qatar in response to the communications they receive via the numbers which was announced to avail this assistance by the needy.
