Though the summer is hot and humid, the excitement and entertainment brought to the residents and visitors by Summer in Qatar campaign are cool and refreshing.

Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) through Summer in Qatar campaign has introduced a wide range of exciting indoor and outdoor experiences, along with entertainment programmes featuring local, regional and international artistes, edutainment, summer and sports camps as well as special promotions on inbound travel, hospitality and shopping.

One of the most anticipated and exciting aspect of the Summer in Qatar campaign is kaleidoscope of musical concerts with international singers to Doha. The latest concert is going to take place today (July 25) when the world renowned DJ and American electronic music producer Marshmello will perform live at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

The music show that is expected to be sold-out is being organised by the Social Studio, an event company, and sponsored by QNTC. The much-awaited concert is expected to start at 7pm and will last till 11pm.

Christopher Comstock, known professionally as Marshmello, first gained international recognition by releasing remixes of songs by American DJ duo Jack Ü and Russian-German DJ Zedd.
He is best known for the songs Silence, Wolves, Friends, and Happier, all of which have been certified multi-platinum in several countries and appeared in the Top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100.

His debut studio album, Joytime, was released in January 2016, which included the lead single and Marshmello’s debut single Keep It Mello. Marshmello’s second song in 2016, a platinum-certified single titled Alone, was released in May via the Canadian record label Monstercat.

Having peaked on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 60, it became his first single to be certified platinum in the US and Canada with over a million copies of certified units. That year, he released three subsequent singles.

In 2017, after releasing singles such as Chasing Colors, Twinbow and Moving On, Marshmello collaborated with American R&B singer Khalid to release Silence as a single, which was certified platinum and multi-platinum in eight countries. Succeeding another single, one of his best-selling singles, a collaboration with American singer Selena Gomez, titled Wolves was released.

His second single of 2018, titled Friends, a collaboration with British singer Anne-Marie, was released.
Months later, his second studio album, Joytime II, was released with singles Tell Me and Check This Out. Marshmello’s highest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 and in the United Kingdom, titled Happier, a collaboration with British band Bastille, was released in August. He was named by Forbes in eighth place on their annual ranking of the world’s highest-paid DJs in 2017 as he earned $21 million in the twelve months prior June 2017.

Marshmello is best known for his white bucket mask he wears during shows.

His identity was not known initially, but was confirmed to be Chris Comstock in April 2017 by Forbes. As a YouTuber, Marshmello has published gaming and cooking videos for his series Gaming with Marshmello and Cooking with Marshmello.

The other upcoming music events by QNTC include, The Blueman Show and Kadim Al Saher.

The Blueman Show will take place at QNCC from August 14 to 17. The wildly popular theatrical phenomenon Blue Man Group will be visiting Doha for the first time as part of their latest world tour.
According to the organisers, expect the unexpected, as Blue Man group will take the audience on a one-of-a-kind journey featuring new music, fresh stories, custom instruments and spectacular graphics.
Lovers of Arabic song are in for a real treat – Kadim Al Saher – one of the most successful singers in the history of the Arab world, will be taking Doha by storm along with his majestic orchestra on August 16 and 17. It is a chance that should not be missed to see the Caesar of Arabic Song perform his world-renowned hits, romantic ballads and classical songs.
