The renowned Cantonese restaurant elevates its world-class culinary experience

17 July 2019Doha, Qatar: Hakkasan Doha, the world acclaimed modern Cantonese restaurant, has appointed Chef Ho Yiek Chung as the new Chef de Cuisine. Chef Chung is responsible for the day-to-day kitchen operations, menu development, ensuring the highest food quality and a smooth culinary operation.

Born in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, Chef Ho Yiek Chung brings over 14 years of experience to Hakkasan Doha. He began his career in London where he joined the Hakkasan Hanway Place team in 2010 and for the past nine years has been perfecting his craft, understanding Hakkasan’s innovative approach and understated elegance. Chef Chung joins Hakkasan Doha team after the successful opening of Hakkasan Jakarta earlier this year where he held the position of the Executive Sous Chef.

Having travelled and worked at various Hakkasan Group locations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Chef Chung has spent his time exploring the various modern interpretations of Chinese cuisine. About his understanding of modern Cantonese cuisine, Chef Chung said: “Travelling has influenced my culinary skills in a substantial way, allowing me to create flavorful combinations that impart original and unique qualities to Hakkasan dishes while remaining true to its Cantonese heritage and charm.”

Situated in the luxurious grounds of The St. Regis Doha hotel, Hakkasan offers exclusive dining areas with indoor seating and an outdoor terrace as well as a private dining room, secluded bar and the Ling Ling lounge.
