Richard Sandoval, founder and owner of RS Hospitality, a leading international restaurant group was in Doha from 13-16 September 2019 to launch new menus for his award-winning restaurants, Toro Toro, Zengo and Maya.

The three restaurants, under the Richard Sandoval Hospitality Group by Chef Sandoval, combine authentic Latin ingredients with international flavors and inventive techniques to create new and unexpected concepts and cuisines, such as modern and coastal Mexican, Latin-Asian, Peruvian, and Pan-Latin

During his visit to Doha, Chef Richard hosted the launch of the new and exciting Saturday Callejero – Street Food Night- at Maya Restaurant and Lounge. Saturday Callejero is a new concept inspired by the popular street food cuisine in Mexico City.   The new menu, available every Saturday at Maya, reflects the spirit of Maya’s resident Chef, Sergio, and his origins in Mexico City. The cuisine, meant to be eaten with your hands, features favorites such as Street Corn on the cob, Hibiscus tinga tostada (Crispy corn Tortilla), Pambazo, and Sope de Suadero.

Doha’s top-notch social media influencers and socialites flocked in numbers to meet Chef Sandoval and enjoy delicious bites and treats made with innovative techniques and earthy complex flavors at Maya. Chef Richard Sandoval said: “It is always exciting to come to Qatar, and see-first-hand the vibrant dining scene in Doha and the great new restaurants and concepts coming to this wonderful city. The team, our guests, and the ambience were all amazing and I am humbled with the turnout and feedback I received on the new menus. I look forward to coming back and continuing to bring Doha the flavors of the Latin & Pan-Asian world like never before.”

For Toro Toro, Richard also hosted Doha’s top food fans to share with them his vision and inspiration for the new menu executed by new Head Chef Edgar Hurtado. This Latin American restaurant is now open for lunch on Saturdays from 12pm to 4pm, with a newly created set menu and a la carte options in a family friendly atmosphere. Toro Toro is a creative blend of Pan Latin styles and flavors, and one of the most successful and growing food concepts in the world. The restaurant showcases genuine recipes from Brazil to Peru. Guests can enjoy the scrumptious small dishes or the sharing platters, best to be shared with family and friends.

Chef Sandoval also hosted local Qatari influencers at Zengo, the restaurant which was inspired by his world travels and the ancient spice routes from Asia to the Far East Zengo’s menu offers a unique spin on Pan-Asian cuisine, ranging from sushi, sashimi and hand-crafted dim sum to curry dishes, grilled entrees, and wok dishes. The chef’s guests at Zengo sampled items from the Omakase lunch menu with hand-made Asian flavored mocktails to compliment the versatile plates. During his visit, Head Chef Marko Maric and Chef Richard had been busy working on a revamped menu for Zengo which will be available in the coming weeks.

Bojan Petrovic, General Manager of Richard Sandoval Hospitality in Doha, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to host Chef Sandoval, as well as the press, influencers, Doha’s socialites and Latin cuisine lovers at our three venues. Toro Toro, Zengo, and Maya have always been favorites in Doha, and we believe that Chef Richard’s visit, and the new menu and opening times will make them become the destination for Latin American, Mexican and Pan-Asian contemporary cuisine.”
