Social Development Centre-Nama observed World Youth Day to mark the role of youth as essential partners of change. The day is considered an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges and problems facing the youth worldwide.

This year, the World Youth Day was celebrated in a different way. A video was produced featuring some of the members involved in the center’s programmes related to social activities, entrepreneurship and community service. In the last two years, Nama Centre has contributed to empowering young people in Qatar through the centre’s beneficial programmes aimed at qualifying the youth to lead the future and continue the development process. The programme and youth projects presented by Nama Centre included different campaigns and activities. It included ‘Reyada Award’ in its fourth edition, which will be launched in 2019 in a new layout and will cover new categories dedicated to community entrepreneurship. Also, social entrepreneurs presented innovative ideas to implement projects that are economically viable and have a wide real social impact.

The first edition of ‘Souq Nama 2017’ was launched in order to expand and build the capabilities of the event by young participants and enable them to reach the local market. Nama also launched the first version of the Social Entrepreneurs Development Programme ‘Sama Nama’, the Youth Capability Enhancement for Lifestyle’ programme, social networking project “Moqbeleen”, and the second version of all these projects during the current year as well.
