Qatar Taxi offers free rides today on siege anniversary

DOHA: To mark Qatar’s resilience and steadfastness against siege imposed on June 5 last year, “Qatar Taxi” will be offering free rides today until midnight.

The initiative is a bid by “Qatar Taxi” to pay tribute to the wise leadership of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and the people for showing resilience and resolve to withstand this unjust blockade.

The siege has not only made the country strong, the government’s response to the crisis, and Qatar’s world-class financial and economic credentials, have enabled business activity to remain as robust as ever, said a statement.

“The strength, loyalty and patriotism demonstrated, in response to the tumult of the past months, have been inspiring and uplifting us. Today we are united by our pride in Qatar and its leadership, and the fellowship we share is a testament to the values upon which Qatar was founded and thrives.”

He added, “We look forward to a bright and prosperous future under the wise leadership of H H the Amir and as always, we are renewing our vow to continue our march of giving and exerting our effort to serve our beloved homeland, and embark on the path of development in all fields.
