Have Your Child Enter Google’s ‘Doodle 4 Google’ Contest

Think your kid’s art deserves to be showcased beyond your refrigerator door? It’s the 10th anniversary of the Doodle 4 Google contest, and K-12 students have three weeks left to submit their renditions of the Google logo. The winner will score a $30,000 scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for their school and the chance to work with Google animators to transform their masterpiece into an interactive doodle on Google.com.

This year’s theme is “What inspires you?” Young artists can use whatever materials they like to create their entries—crayons, clay, graphic design, or even food. All that’s required is that the doodle incorporates the letters G-o-o-g-l-e.

Past winners have included 11-year old Audrey Zhang of New York, who drew this elaborate water purifier, and Connecticut 10th grader Sarah Harrison, whose doodle featured her vision of a peaceful future. The 2018 contest closes on March 2, so get those doodlers doodling.
