The Mahaseel Souq in the southern area of Katara  is to open today. The festival offers visitors and locals fresh farm vegetables and good.

Apart from vegetables, there are many stalls providing fresh honey right from the Qatari farms which is good for the health.

Visitors can purchase livestock products, crops, seeds and plants this weekend.
Twenty-two Qatari farms and six major national companies specialised in producing and selling sheep meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products and natural juices are participating at the souq as reported by The Peninsula.

“Katara is keen to launch the festival, as part of its unceasing efforts to support national products in its various sectors, especially in agriculture, livestock and food supplies, more so as it would help the State of Qatar achieve agricultural sustainability and self-sufficiency in food production and distribution.” Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti told local media in one of the press conferences last year.

The festival is to promote the Qatari farm products in the market by offering high quality goods at reasonable price. It is to help the community get better and bigger.
